Bringing Your PR & Social Media to a New Level in 2010

2009 was a rough year for many people. It was also an exciting time for people who are embracing new opportunities to learn, use Social Media, build new business strategies and kick start their organizations.

Marketing and business guru Tom Peters says, “If you don't like change, you'll like irrelevance even less.”

Technology and the changing economic landscape demand that we approach our missions, creativity, and business development strategies with a fine balance of vigor, patience, vision and long-term growth.

Consider what you have accomplished and learned in the last 12 months. Think about your PR, marketing and networking successes. What worked and what fell short? What surprised you? Did you take advantage of opportunities to learn, attend conferences, teleseminars and webinars? Do you have a mentor in your field? Are you using new tools for measurement, placement and Social Media? Are you blogging, making video’s and watching online conversations to head off negative customer service mentions and problems? Are you reading trade publications and books to help with the learning curve? Have you updated your crisis communication plan? Do you have your finger on the pulse of the Public Relations industry? Are you maintaining and building new contacts with print, radio and TV reporters? Are you using Search Engine Optimization (SEO) in your articles, press releases and posts?

Above all, do you have the passion needed to recharge and rejuvenate for 2010?

A blend of traditional PR, Social Media and face-to-face networking---combined only with your willingness to learn---can produce huge results in the coming year.

Commit to excellence in 2010! Happy New Year!
