Seasonal Favorites and Seasonal Pitches
The changing of the seasons is always an interesting way to get refreshed and take a new look at life. Seasonal stories are prevalent in the news too. These can vary from skins tips, clothing, house and garden news, school and sports injuries, summer beach rentals, vacation gas prices, holiday shopping, employment and business trends, and so much more.

Seasonal stories abound and it’s our job as creative geniuses to develop the ones that pertain to our businesses and areas of expertise. Consider your industry and make a list of 3-5 stories that may be newsworthy for the spring season of April, May and June.

Maybe you are a certified barbecue chef which would work nicely for Memorial Day weekend. Maybe you own a jewelry store and can tie into gifts for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, graduations, and communions. Maybe you’re in the health care industry and can offer tips in May for Asthma and Allergy Awareness Month (by the way, May is also Melanoma and Skin Detection month, Clean Air Month and National Bike Month). The possibilities seem endless.

Creating opportunities often involves our ability to piggyback off of other people’s news and connect our own expertise to the general public.

Communication Quote
“You cannot shake hands with a clenched fist.”

One of My Favorite Quotes
“Those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.”
– George Bernard Shaw, writer
